Just my experience, YMMV of course. I bought a Roomba S9 last fall, yes the $1300 one. I’m on my third one now. They’ve warrantied the last two. So far this one seems ok. The first one *constantly* said “empty the bin” and would not move. I literally had to empty and wash the bin spotless before the sensors would see it was really empty. The second one acted like it was drunk. All it did was wander around bumping into things. I finally found a phone number for iRobot Corporate and pitched such a fit that they sent me a third one. Fingers crossed

Edit... if I had this to do over I’d probably go with the Neato brand, only problem is Roomba is the only one with a self emptying base.
