hudrKarma, maybe? Old iPhones
I have some old iPhones. Two 4, and one 5.
I don’t remember what was wrong with them. I only upgrade when I start to have issues, so I know none of them are perfect. One 4 does have a busted screen.
I would wager these are mainly good for parts, at best.
I know we have some hobbyists on here that use these phones for app development, security stuff, etc.
any of y’all have any interest? Or do I just toss them in the electronics recycling?

slosigIf there is someone who wants them, I’ve got an SE that I’ll add to the pile. Screen is fine, but randomly reboots. I was surprised it stayed up long enough to backup so I could restore to another. I’d be tempted to take it down to our little range, but I don’t want to clean up the mess after. Email is in profile.

MikeinNCwhere I used to live, the local woman’s shelter had co-opted with the version store to wipe donated phones and give them to ladies in their care for use in emergencies. The wiped phones only dialed 911.

urbanwarrior238^^ THIS ^^ Domestic violence shelter, Police, etc, might give you a place to drop them off if you wanted that. I know years ago our PD used to take them for the local shelter.

hudrI would donate them, but y’all did read the part about “I don’t upgrade unless the phone has problems”, right?
These phones are not 100% operational. I don’t want to be seen as trying offload my junk to a charity that is trying to help people.
I doubt they have the facilities to part these phones out, but I could be wrong.

Glynn863I use my old iPhone 4 as an internet radio (TuneIn Radio app) and iPod. I like to listen to SWR4 (Baden-Wurtemburg radio station in Germany) at night, since I am trying to learn German.

I currently use an iPhone XR. These are just junk drawer dwellers.

gearhoundsAs long as old phones have good batteries (the 4 had excellent battery life) they do just fine as, well, phones. They also text and do email without issue for the most part. Where they fail to perform is apps that have updated to newer IOS.

clubleaf206Target stores have donation boxes for Cellphones for Soldiers. If the phone can’t be reused it is taken to a recycling center and the money gained from that is used to purchase airtime cards for soldiers serving overseas.
