This Spanish gentilhombre was caught tipping a large refrigerator over a cliff, and laughing as he did so. Here in Europe, dropping your trash off the back of your truck onto the countryside - NOT a registered trash disposal site - is called fly-tipping. It is prevalent among to so-called 'travelling community' who dump their shite, and 'travel' somewhere else.

Sad for him he was made the subject of a movie...well, read for yourselves what happened next...

Am I reading correctly that he was fined 45,000 euros?

If so that's insane, granted I hate litterbugs, but even I think that's a bit excessive.

In a perfect world there would be no fine for littering, just 10 lashes.

That's north of $50k. Eek What a dumbass. I bet he won't do that again.

I despise these sonsabitches. They'll dump anything in the desert around here. The trash outfit picks up large items twice a month. There's no reason for it.

What would be a reasonable fine for littering like this? Particularly against somebody as flagrant and flippant of the laws that they recorded their activity.

Contractors and home improvement projects are the biggest culprits of illegal dumping. It's not hard to drive down any country road and see a pile that was pushed-out of the back of a truck or, look down a steep ravine and see a variety of 'unnatural items' strewn about. Good on Spain for nailing this guy.

I was recently in Barcelona. We came in too late for the tour bus and were taken directly to the port to get on our ship. I though the U.S. had a lot of garbage, but going into the bad part of the city there was garbage dumped everywhere.

Detroit is the dumping ground in S/E Michigan.

I was envisioning something like cow tipping, but with houseflies. Doesn't seem much of a sport.

It's called fly-tipping because most times the miscreants push the trash off the back of a moving truck of some kind - 'on the fly' as it's called here...

The 'travelling community' here in UK are most prolific offenders.

I gather that's the politically correct term for that particular culture....

"Pikeys" is the term Hollywood taught me. Wink

That is great, made him haul it up and fined him. I hate a scum who litter the world like this, wish more would get caught.

Gypsies or Rumneys, it's English for 'we've been here for hundreds of years but, we refuse to assimilate'

The show Peaky Blinders romanticizes this group.

I just imagine Brad Pitt saying "periwinkle blue" over and over any time they come up in conversation.

Well chalk one up for social media, finding stupid people who post things with their face, truck tags, and then hope to cash in...

You can clearly see his face in the fly tipping video he made, wonder why they blurred him out on the back haul.

Good for Spain, the Ahole probably made good money off you tube views, so Spains getting some of that out of his wallet.
