Verrrry Interesting.

Here's a couple of my takeaways.

CNS hits are most likely to incapacitate a determined/viscious-mindset/chemically enhanced attacker regardless of projectile or launcher. That seems to be commonly accepted wisdom over time.

"Psychological stops" (hits anywhere) incapacitated attackers in 36% of the cases in the study.

I guess the .40 S&W isn't so bad after all.

I wonder where the the .327 Fed would have placed in those charts?

I think this vid was in the ccw forum for a while. I looked for it a while back but did not find it.

I got a good chuckle about his assumptions on the 410.

I think it's all a little misleading. Shoot a deer with 357 and then shoot one with 5.56 and I promise you won't find them the same.

I get that the data is the data, but it's not always that simple.

On a side note, in Colorado at least, the .357 is legal to shoot a deer, while a .223 is not.

I've been hearing about Elifritz for a few years now. How is his work any different from he much maligned/debunked Marshall/Sanow study?

So far no Police agency has come forward and stated they didn't provide Elifritz info and accuse him of fabricating it.

I've got a copy of Marshall's book, unforunately is packed up right now, but Marshall's methodology was very different. I highly recomend you read Marshall's methodology in his own words and compare it to Ellifritz's.

I found it interesting that he seemed to insinuate that a .410 buck shot load would be equally effective from a 4" pistol as it would from an 18 inch shotgun barrel.

A 22 is a good bug out rifle because A LOT of ammo Can be carried Easily and it can be pressed into service for small game and not ruining meat, in a true Bug out scenario. I don’t Think many people are advocating it to be a primary Home defense gun or even a primary weapon in a bug out. However even in a bug out 25 rounds of Quality 22 on tap is nothing scoff at close range vs soft targets.

I think thats the videographer injecting his opinion. He has another video extoling the virtues of 410 and 454 as the ultimate SHTF gun.
