I also see petitions for awesome things such as "repeal the NFA" and "do not repeal net neutrality" well past their signature goals.

Looks like these petitions are exactly as effective as the amount of effort it takes to sign them, which is negligible.

I would suggest sending regular letters to your representatives instead, though that does take real effort...
