This is my thinking as well. Two full terms would be enough to both attract people actually interested in representing their constituency but limiting the time that could be abused to enrich bank accounts. This would in my opinion create genuine intra-party competition to keep the office from stagnating. There would always be talented people in the wings hungry for their chance.

We might actually end up with servants of the people instead of owners of the office.

you'd still end up with career politicians.

first it would be state governor or something for let's say 8 years.
then US house (twice) for a total of 4 years.
then US senate (twice) for 12 more years.

That alone is 24 years of elected office.
Nevermind any of the other random offices they could shove in there as filler.

Should insert something like a cap on number of years to hold ANY office.
Like 10 years max and you're done.

So you could do 2 years in the house, then two terms as president for example.
Or 1 term in the senate and then 1 as president.
etc..

Depends on the definition of a conversation, his might not include the other person actually being able to participate in it!

A-hole Massie stymied in his attempt to further embarrass Trump, but only succeeds in doing it to himself.

House goes in early adjournment before November elections. I expect the Senate will follow suit too, thus McConnell is out before further embarrassing actions.

As we are now within 56 days of the General Election, a vacancy election doesn’t need to be called as the General Election will suffice to fill out the vacant term should one occur in the Senate if McConnell leaves for whatever reason before end of his term.

And as Massie was defeated in the May Primary, all he can do is foot-stomp and shout to the leftist news media in the triangle of Louisville-Lexington-Northern Kentucky (Cincinnati, OH TV market). No one except TDS-ers really cares what this twit says.
