Something simular when as a young teenager (1963?) the family camping in a national park near Ardmore, Oklahoma. Woke up during middle of night with severe lower right side side stomache pain . Father drove me to town while mother stayed with 3 brothers. Drove up 1st emergency room drive way which across street from county hospital. It was the 7th Day Adventist Hospital And could not have asked for better care as surgery was appendix removal the next morning and climbing into rear of station wagon for trip home (about 12 hr ride). Upon arrival at home took 1 hour to exit car and make it to my bed. Trouble with walking due to pain. Complete recovery . Had trouble with stitches when someone told a funny which made laughter hurt....................... drill sgt

Glad all went well. Laparoscopic surgery is a modern miracle, compared to the major incisions that used to be required for appendectomies, and gall bladder surgery in the past.

Welcome to the club of no appendix people. Mine burst back on 5 December that was my first hospital stay and I’m 52. I was in there for two days and glad to be out and it took a month to recuperate.
Hope you get to feeling better it takes a while.

The nicest feeling was waking up this morning and not having pain in my chest and shoulder from the air they used to blow up my abdomen during the surgery. That felt like a huge step forward. While it sucked being away from my wife and daughter on Easter, I did feel like today was a good progress day.

No denying how wonderful modern medicine is. We are definitely blessed with how much less invasive to our bodies that surgeries have become.

My late father-in-law was a pioneer in arthroscopy of the knee, one of the founders of the International Arthroscopy Society (IIRC the name correctly). The orthopedic surgery group wouldn't let them be part of their organization of "conventional" orthopedic surgery specialists.

Sorry to hear about the issue, but so happy to learn you're recovering quickly. I hope everything is back to normal for you soon!

Glad you're doing well and able to find a hospital while traveling. I had a "parotidectomy" last September to remove some small cancers from my lymph nodes. It was the first time in a hospital since 1938 when I was 3 years old and had my tonsils removed, a period of 82 years. Word spread and even the hospital administrator came to my room to congratulate me. Good luck on making another 41 years, I don't think I'll make another 82 years. Again, glad you're doing well.

Though hospitals may be one of my least favorite places to be, I wouldn't be here today if not for them. God Bless them, some of the very best at what they do.

Glad you're on the mend. I knew a co-worker who's appendix burst in 1999 or so. He was out of commission for about a month. I heard it's brutal.

Thank you very much to all of you who have commented and wished me well. I’m definitely feeling better and better by the day. Mostly I just feel like if I overdo it I might rip something but I can’t say that I have much in terms of pain thankfully. And the best part is that I arrived home this evening and will get to spend the night in my own bed, and will get to see my daughter in the flesh when I wake up in the morning. Life is good.

One of them has gotten a fair amount of use and the other still hasn’t seen the water. I am using one as my backup with my 620 paired with a Mk19 Evo as my primary reg. When I get my doubles setup going this year as I complete my tech cert I am planning on using both G250Vs with twin Mk19 Evos. I like the G250V quite a bit though and took a few puffs on it at the bottom of the U853 last summer, right at 129 feet, just to see if it breathes as well as it’s supposed to, and it did.

A few months after graduating college, I ended up with a chronic appendicitis. I felt sick about every two weeks, then better after two days. After about 2 months, it all came to a head one night. Into the ER the next day and in surgery for over four hours, most of it cleaning me out. The scar is around 5-6 inches. No laparoscope back then.
