Stop in to Bedford, VA, visit the D-Day Memorial. It is one of the most memorable memorials I have seen. Very well done.

Virginia Museum of Transportation is a must. My job used to take me down to Roanoke regularly but no longer.... It's a four hour drive from NoVA, unfortunately.

I lived there part time a few decades ago. Nice little town/city for my taste. Enough things to do but still easy to get around.
The Blue Ridge Parkway is very nice when the weather is good and there's a lot of historic things to see in the area or within an hour or so.

Yes, forgot about the Bedford D-Day memorial. Have been there several times, very moving.

Pick a night!

When I was in my early 20s we went to corned beef factory. Is that place still there?

Yes! I had dinner there tonight.

Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed.
Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

Awesome, I'll have to stop in next time I am that way. Little trip down memory lane.

Roanoke is one of my favorite cities, I'd happily move there if not for the pay cut I'd have to take. Lake and mountains short drive away, Blue Ridge Pkwy, friendly people, city like restaurants and entertainment.

Enjoy your time in the mini city.
