Can't just live my declining years quietly. The wife just yelled "theres a car in Shane's steps". OK, that's less than normal. So I move my lazy ass and sure enough, he's got a japanese shitbox parked sideways in the wreckage of what was his steps. Never a dull moment. As I was telling her to call 911, which she won't do, I hear a siren. Then there's a fat chick on the phone in his front yard. Sho' nuff, up rolls a local. Then another, and another and another. Must be a slow day. And I keep hearing sirens. Eventually a total of 7 cruisers and 3 fire dept vehicles. My tax dollars funding a weekend picnic. It was a fun time. The wife doesn't like to get involved, but I abused her into taking pix. So I sent an email to the neighbor. He was driving home from Indy and was interested. So he phoned me, wanting even more photos. I told him he and his dad had a weekend carpentry project. The wife also sent them to our sons. They also said it was a good police response. I yelled down to one of the cops that I had the homeowner on the phone. He came right over and took my phone. They couldn't figure out how to notify him. Then the massive police response cuffed the 2nd fat chick and put her in the nearest cruiser. I went out front to view the carnage. A cop was walking past and mentioned she was drunk. To the cookie jar with her. She'll get a luxury night at the Kenton County Hilton. Too late for supper, and she doesn't need food anyhow. They'll wake her for a luxury breakfast and maybe even a celebrity meeting with a local judge. With the corona virus outbreak, I doubt they hold her long. Just enough for a solid exposure. I saw no tune up as was the custom in the past. She's too heavy for a precint party as was the custom in the past. We live in an accident prone place. No good reason why. A few years back a "working girl" landed her borrowed Suburban in my front fence, after hitting the same neighbors nice grand cherokee. A druggie up the road a bit hit a phone pole out front. Another one hit the stone wall next to us. Its a pretty straight stretch of road. Unhappy ammo seeker

I had a car launch into a house we own and hit the side of the house with all four tires, passenger side down. Guys were inside refinishing hardwood floors. I was next door at our store. I thought they lit a cigarette and blew the house up. 3 people in the car, only one seriously injured. _____________________ Be careful what you tolerate. My grandparents used to live in the country on a 4-way stop with one road 55 mph and the other 45 mph. They had a car come into their living room. Grandpa had a sudden interest in landscaping that involved boulders and it never happened again. Lots of drivers did their worst but never defeated the boulders. Down the road a piece a guy planted a couple of railroad rails in the ground. One of them got bent over the years after a few contacts. Its now vanished and there's only one. Kind of interesting to me because the one that is now gone was planted at an angle. I'm thinking the drunk who must have hit it must have done some damage to his car to bend it straight up. Maybe someone here knows better than I, but it comes to mind that rails are made of fairly tough steel. They'd have to be. Guess we need to take photos of all the cars and trucks that crash into our houses, phone poles, fences, cars, etc. I wish we had a state law that required impounding all the errant cars that cause damage to our stuff. At least until the insurance paid off in full. Hard to argue it was our fault when our homes were legally parked on our own lot. Guess there are some crooked lawyers who might argue otherwise. I have a friend who is also a member here who has spent a sizable chunk of money landscaping his lawn. His property is all the way to the road with no right of way. The trouble is there is a S shaped curve and his place is dead in the middle. He’s had school buses, cars, and a semi (which is not allowed on his road) plow into his boulders over and over again. He finally installed video recording in order to hold people accountable. He’s called several accountable monetarily so far. It drives him crazy but better than a car in or against the house.

His diet consists of black coffee, and sarcasm. |
One of my sisters lived for a time in a house that was at the bottom of a steep grade and the end of a curve. Because of the large back yard, the house itself didn't get hit, but a car knocked down the chain-link fence and went a few feet into the yard, and a motorcyclist strained himself through the fence and had to be hauled off in an ambulance.

Locally there is a T-intersection . 4 lanes at 2 lane. Stop light both ways. Across intersection from 4 lane is the entrance to a large subdivision with a landscaped tall brick wall. Over the years it was involved in several car crashes. Somebody installed several pieces of railroad track steel drove into ground . That seemed to help till one late night a car hit with such force the rails bent slightly causing the car to go "airborne dukes of hazzard style flight". Cleared a 7 ft brick all only knocking top row of bricks off. No major injuries just a lot of landscape damage on backside of wall. Just 5 minutes prior to wreck I had stopped driver for possible DWI but let him go without being arrested. ..........drill sgt.

Unless you've called us before, and we have your current address associated with you (which means the call taker and dispatcher were actually trying), we won't have a clue how to get a hold of you. We usually resort to things like running license plates, looking in the mailbox, looking up property tax records, and talking to neighbors to figure out who knows a place. Getting a phone number of often more challenging. It seems to me that nobody has their neighbors' phone numbers and those that do are often places where they still have a landline (older folks) and that's the number they have.

Bend that phrase a bit and add in "she doesn't need food" and you have something to be thankful for. That being that She Doesn't need Food wasn't wearing a Tank Top. I've stopped counting.

Does the Kenton County Hilton still have the reputation it did years ago? I was told that was probably the last place you want to visit. Niech Zyje P-220 Steve

Nope, its a new luxury compound down along 275. Covington didn't want it because of all the crime that came along. The dirtbags got out and hung around for whatever reason. I have a son that lives on the opposite hillside. But its a rural setting so none of the inmates wants to be around. Nothing to steal and its obvious you don't belong there. Unhappy ammo seeker
