Front load model 796.40272900

I’ve had this for years and have taken a perverse form of pleasure by personally keeping this machine running. Water pump, door lock, the magnetic thing in the back that spins the drum. (Thank-you YouTube and “Brad”).

I’m afraid I have met my match. GF was washing last night and went down to find water in the tub and the power off. It will not turn back on.

There is power going to the cord

I tried the Internet tricks of holding the left button 10 seconds and then the right 10 seconds

I tried opening/closing the door 6x in 12 seconds

I tried spinning the drum.

Nothing. Will not power on.

Is there a fuse/reset button in this machine?

I’m thinking I may need to replace the user interface board and/or the main control board. Both are no longer made; so it could be an interesting hunt.

Ebay is the best bet for the board. Often cheaper than the online parts warehouses.

Pop the board off and make sure a connection has not come loose.

Sounds silly, but that has happened to me more than once. Also, check and make sure the contacts from your power cord are nice and tight. they might have worked loose.

Have you tried unplugging the power cord for about a minute and then plug it back in. I had a Kenmore that would not come on. I could unplug power cord for 30 seconds or so plug it back in and it would power up. Not sure it will work for you but worth a try. Good luck.

eBay it is. I found the full front control assembly for about $100 including shipping.

If that does not work, well it’s been a good run and I have certainly got my use out of this machine.

The line filter on LG's is notorious for failing.

Check to see if power is coming out of it.

Fixed a few of those.

Ugh.

I’ve got power running to the filter…nothing registering on the wires exiting the filter.
Found one at the appliance store that I am going to pick up tomorrow.

Fingers crossed…and thanks!

Awesome, Hopefully you were able to cancel ordering the control board.

I feel a bit like a heel for that. I replaced ours twice. I was sure that was the problem.

Don’t think twice about it; that was the direction I was heading too. I know better, should have followed the power further. The EBay store I purchased from will accept my return.
