A year ago, I took over the team I’ve been on for the last 17 years. At 53. Being in charge really changed my perspective on a lot. I always put in the work, but now I have to put in my work for personal growth and manage all the young dudes that are running around. I had to step up my level of physical fitness because I’m a big believer in leading from the front. I have also had to learn the jobs that I never specialized in.

All in all, the “new” adventure has been good for me on a personal level.

Are you quoting yourself now? I have to apologize, I have somehow made you think I was irritated when in fact the emotion I was trying to convey was confusion. My bad.

I think the midget porn stuff has legs.

This is really an interesting thread. It almost seems like reading it one learns more about the thinking process and world view of the respondents than the project or adventure the OP is considering. Heck, it might have shined some light on my own thought process and world view reading and considering how I might approach it. ORC, thank you very much for that sir!

Re-reading your post again to get your several questions and try to formulate reasonable answers/suggestions, I am struck that you only asked one question, “So do you have one more in you?”

Interesting, as much as many of us all leap to help you make your decision, that wasn’t the question you asked. I’m glad to realize that you probably have that one figured out, whatever you decided.

As for your question, I sure hope that I have several more left in me. The kids are not far from no longer being dependents and Mrs. slosig and I will be more free soon. What to do with that freedom is a big question.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
