I have googled and done searches. There are so many to pick from. I need a black 1.5" stiff belt. I am plainclothes in my assignment and either carry a G19.5 or my trusty P228 SAS in a new/old stock Bianchi PDQ with a desantis leather double mag OT pouch. I have several belts. The one I am currently using is a 511 leather but I can tell it isn't going to last long. I don't know if I need a belt with a stiffener or perhaps horsehide. Anyway, were should I go for this? I could spend days looking on Amazon but I'm tired of trying different ones and would just like to bite the bullet and get a good one that will be stiff and last at least five years until my retirement. I will wear it everyday. Thank you in advance!

I just received a new belt from Hank's Belts, Black Out Tactical - 1.5". I really like it, very sturdy. I have a First Spear belt that I have had for years and it has held up nicely but I lost some weight and needed a new belt so I tried Hank's this time around. I ordered a incorrect size from Hank's and their exchange program was seamless and no charge for return shipping. ______________________________________________ "Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever." - Karen Davison "Man can measure the values of his own soul in the look of the eyes of an animal he's helped" - Author Unkown

Beltman makes great stuff, but I made a mistake when I ordered one with a reinforcing insert -- I can't use my Don Hume mag carriers with the metal belt clip as the belt is too thick. I replaced it with a Desantis E25 EDC belt, which they describe as an "under belt" designed for NYPD, and for off-duty carry. It's on their website for $46.99 and on Amazon for less. I use it to carry my G-19 in various holsters depending on weather and clothing, along with a couple spare mags. -------------------------- Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats. -- H L Mencken I always prefer reality when I can figure out what it is. -- JALLEN 10/18/18

The best two I have had also. Beltman is a smidge sturdier and for sure faster delivery. Screw Amazon when you can get a handmade in the USA from someone who knows what they are doing for $75/80 that will last years. I have a few SIGs.

Given that The Beltman is long-time member here, why would you go anywhere else? I have three of his belts, all of which have been (and are) stellar. My primary belt has been such for well over a decade and still looks like new except for where the buckle tongue intersects with hole #3. The only thing they do better than their belts is their customer service!

I have thick Rosen belt that's holding up well after 10 years. And I know you said leather and if want leather, plus non-leather, Kore is good too. I have Kore and it's a true gunbelt but doesn't look like a gun belt.

For my last 11 years of plainclothes I used horsehide belts from Kramer. Brown and black. My agency required us to wear our Glock 23, two spare mags, OC spray, cuffs and issued cell phone. The belts held the weight fine. After I retired I got a horsehide belt from The Beltman. Even though now I only carry a pistol and one reload and phone, It is everything the Kramers are and more, being that he adds more holes closer together. This adds more adjustment for IWB/OWB carry or a slight change in, shall we say, girth. Not to mention the wait time for Kramer stuff is glacial. Edited. While I was typing Flashlightboy recommended the Kore belt. I can also. I have one also in nylon and it works great. You can get one in 2 days from Amazon.

I have a new Beltman belt, and it is hard to see how it could be improved. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

. Take a look at A Better Belt www.aBetterBeltUSA.com They incorporate a pivot section in the small of your back which made a difference in my comfort. It basically contours the belt to your body when you run, walk, sit, etc... Owner's name is Mike, they are a small shop based in Houston and make high quality products.
