Kahr P380… I polished the ramp to a mirror finish and did some minor work on the extractor. It works better than it did, but still enough untrust worthy if I ever needed it. My Mosquito has been flawless as long as I use Mini Mags.

Yeah, the Gen 1 M&P texture was even worse than the Gen 1-3 Glocks. Slippery like soap, especially if your hands are even the least bit wet/sweaty/greasy. Grip tape is a must.

Luckily, S&W addressed that with the Gen 2 M&Ps, and I think the Gen 2 grip texture is right about perfect, aggressive without being too aggressive for concealed carry.

I have the 5" version of that smith 686. I quite like it.

I would say my most disappointing was a Taurus 1911 I bought used. Pretty gun with polished flats and rosewood grips. Wouldn't cycle a whole magazine to save its life.

Second place goes to the Tisas hi-power clone I bought. Only gun thats ever bit me when shooting it. And I have relatively normal hands (long fingers, but not fat hands).

Beretta 9000s. Bought late one night over a decade ago. Alcohol may have been involved in the purchase. Worst trigger I've ever felt. Complete mush-o-matic.

My disappointment in the P245 was no place to place my pinky finger; hence, poor grip. Very accurate for me. Sold it.

Walther P22

Smith & Wesson Model 63, 4” bbl. Never thought I’d not like a Stainless Steel .22 revolver from about 1980 but I found one! Didn’t fit my hand though I shot it well enough.

Traded it in at work for a Model 17-3 with a 8 3/8”bbl that had been in the cabinet for a couple of weeks with only slight customer interest. My Model 63 was gone in three days. Whoever got it I hope they like it better than I.

Nope. I always carried it in the nice Galco leather with the neoprene strap and fuzz with tall boots. Never had an issue. However my first couple foot pursuits with it I felt like I had a Skip It on my ankle.

Funny story about it. When I worked day shift The officer that worked my area on second shift and our shifts would overlap, she was pretty worthless and not the sharpest tool in the shed. Almost every time she got dispatched to back me up I would just tell her to disregard as I was better off on my own than with her there.
Though on one occasion she was following me up the stairs and you could see the bottom of the holster on my ankle.
She looked very confused and asked what was on my ankle and I just looked at her and said it was my ankle monitor.
Her eyes got huge and Insaid yeah I am glad they let me have work release.
She did not say a word.

Walther PPS. It shot and felt great, but I could not get used to the mag release location.

For a gunmaker to suggest their engineers are not capable of designing - and their factory not capable of building - a firearm that works correctly right out of the box is ludicrous.

An Iver Johnson M1 Carbine (an early one) back in the mid-80s. Jam-a-matic extraordinaire. Traded it, and a year later bought another one. This one ran fine.

Paraordinance P-14 .45. And I paid MSRP for it.

I don’t even remember why i didn’t like it, it was so long ago. But I did not like it.

The gun that eventually replaced it after a trade was a Taurus .357 snubnose. I forget the model. It would have primers pop out from recoil so far that it would jam up the cylinder. I finally determined that every dollar related to that original purchase was tainted.

A heavy barrel Ruger No 1 in 22/250. Bought it in the mid to late 70s. Could not get that thing to shoot anything under 3 inches. And it wasn’t me. I traded it in on a 223 Remington 700 varmint, and handloaded plenty of 3/8” groups with that rifle.

Para USA GI Expert (Model 1911 clone). It would not function reliably with factory mags. Multiple failures to load/eject with every full magazine. Para sent me new mags, same problem. It worked better with Wilson Combat mags, but I sold it.

Also Sig P229 in 9mm. Seemed not to like any brand of ammo, always had cycling issues. Also sold it.
I just don't want to own things that are not reliable.
