While I found a discussion about shooting glasses couldn’t find this.

I had cataract surgery and my distant vision is near perfect. No correction required. I require up close readers of 2+ power which are cheap and available in half glasses or full size. When going about the day at the supermarket shopping or elsewhere I’ve got to have these dang things hanging on the end of my nose to be able to see up close or look over the top of them beyond about 15 inches. It can be awkward.

I can get regular prescription glasses for regular prescription prices over 150.00.

The readers can be had for less than 10.00.

I have no vanity. I would prefer just to wear clear glasses with the 2 power bifocal insert if I could find them. Or maybe with the bottom half a bifocal 2 power and the top clear.



These would just be readers at the bottom and clear at the top. Seems someone should have found this niche and can supply them way below the outrageous price for prescription glasses. Progressive might work too.

Anyone aware of a source for something like this?

Check Amazon. There are a lot of frame choices as long as you know your "cheater" number, .5, 1.0, etc.

I use Amazon like petr mentioned.
I buy them in boxes of two or three.

There is a pair in almost every room in my house,one in each car, one in my camera bag and most of the time a pair around my neck with one of those strings so I don't loose them.

I use 3M Nuvo readers every day. $11.00 at Lowes and can get in 1.5, 2.0 or 2.5. They are poly lenses with side Shields. Must be cleaned with the softest tissue paper you have.

Thanks for your responses. I’ll contact these tomorrow. I hope I described what I am looking for. I want glasses with uncorrected, non prescription clear main lenses with corrected bifocal cheaters reading inserts @ 2 power at the bottom part of the lens.

The only corrected part of the lens would be the small cheater bifocal part at the lens’s bottom.
