I was just talking to my younger son and he asked this question. I said yes I can see my own nose; what kind of question is that? He swears that a large number of people he asks say they cannot see their nose.

I said "when I look crosseyed that's pretty much all I see". He said people state that even covering one eye and looking to the side that they cannot see their nose.

He had to go, so I didn't get to ask yet how this possibly came up. But I'm 99% sure he's not just screwing with me.

So, I figured a poll might shed some light.

Question:
Can you see your nose on your face? Directly, not in the mirror.

Choices:
Yes, if I look hard to the side with one eye or crosseyed, there it is.
No, and I never knew what I was missing.

 

My nose is rather large so...yeah.

Don’t even have to try. Looking ‘at’ my iPad I see it in peripheral. Is ion with either eye when the other is closed.

I dont think i have a nose. I vaguely remember my mom taking it when i was little!
