"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

It would seem M$ already has patched it.

parabellumAnd just to be super-safe, I have paused updates on my WIN10 machine until February 4th. Almost certainly unnecessary, but, hey, it's Microsoft.

Rey HRHI'm running Windows 11 Home version 24H2 OS Build 26100.7623
No problems but I'll stop the automatic updates. I sure hope they took out the faulty updates from circulation.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

So, according to Yahoo, KB5074109, build 26200.7623 is triggering the issues that can prevent some devices from booting properly? Interesting, I am currently running 26200.7623 on Windows 11 Pro, 25H2.
And Microsoft says KB5078127, build 26200.7628 is okay to install, which is currently waiting on my computer for me to install?

joel9507One of my buddies runs a PC repair service, and he says Win11 has been a great revenue-enhancement for him, digging folks out of its nonsense.
I'd be happiest on my perfectly-fine Win7, got dragged kicking and screaming into the almost-tameable Win10 and won't touch 11.
I'll happily wait till Windows 14.1, or the end of the century - whichever comes last - to sidegrade/downgrade to whatever is then their latest-and-greatest.

Ugh! Same status as above with only difference being on Win 11 Home vs. Pro. And I find out about this right after installing both Turbotax and an update for my Epson printer SW. Got courageous and rebooted afterwards and the laptop booted correctly so maybe the computer survives for another day. So should I now try the 7628 build??

The Lenovo W520 machine I am currently on is perfectly fine operating on Win10.
My broker-dealer is forcing me to "upgrade" to Win11 which I have learned will force me to buy a newer machine.
