Knife line in a jewelry store... Login/Join

I'm thinking of adding a knife line in my shop. I used to carry William Henry in my other shop, the sale through was weak, but it brought "prestige" to the shop...we needed it because it was in Newport Beach. What are some mid-high end brands that you like?

https://chrisreeve.com/ seems to fill that role as far as I'm aware.

They are made in Orlando Florida.

I do like William Henry and have several, but they're not any better mechanically than many other folders. I'm also disappointed in their constant turning to the "skull" motif lately, but they are jewelry, and are very nice knives, many one-of-a-kind. Limited clientele as you say. Chris Reeve and Benchmade are always good lines. I really liked Lone Wolf's Paul Presto knives for functionality and beauty, and have several of those as well but sadly no longer made I believe (Benchmade acquired and then dropped):

I will make a kinda odd recommendation:
Spyderco. The high end models are impressive and the EDC models could be an add on bundle for sport watches. Spyderco Salt models seem tailor made to sell with dive watches.
For higher end custom folders: Spartan Blades.

In my opinion, don't do it unless you have had a large number of requests for knives. Y'all have mastered what you do well. Let that continue to be your jam.

David, if you are interested in "jewelry" quality knives, such as the high end Damascus folders. That is one thing, or are you looking to sell the same stuff available every gun or sporting good store?

David- You're heading down a weird rabbit hole.
What do you want to do?
Do you want to carry a higher end knives or are you looking for a high end knife maker?
Because there's a lot of both out there.

Jon is an old friend of mine.

Take a peek, get some ideas and go have fun. There's everything from a few hundred to a few thousand.

There's a local gun shop I frequent. He sells knives made by a local "artisan(?)." I mean the guy is apparently well-known locally. I do know the knife maker sends out the heat treating part to a third party. So maybe you can strike up a similar arrangement.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." The Chris Reeve recommendation is good. Not only are the knives well built, they are beautiful. One of my EDC is a Sebenza that I purchased in 1990, it has character marks but is perfect in my eyes.

David Yellowhorse (https://yellowhorse.com/) out of Arizona customizes Buck knifes with interesting scales.

You might consider reaching out to bladesmiths that are members of the American Bladesmith Society (https://www.americanbladesmith.org/). There may be an opportunity to commission custom knives for your customers. There is something special about a knife built to one's own specs. I have one built by Blind Horse Knives that I treasure.

Let me help you out. Which way did you come in?

Whatever brand you carry make sure it's not sold on Amazon or you won't make any profit on them.

Not everyone wants to only buy from Amazon. I prefer to look at an item and walk out with it. I pay more to a local business rather than Amazon!

When I think of a knife section in a jewelry shop, I think of gentleman's pocketknives. (Stockman, Trapper, Sodbuster, Barlow, etc.) I would go for these in excellent steels and exotic scales.
