Of course he would. This is not at all like the Garland situation. Trump has only been in office for one term so far, and the Republicans hold both the White House and the Senate.

The only problem I see with that is that it may be difficult to get 51 Republicans to hold on and get it done. Several of them are up for election and this is a testy issue with some of their voters.

What happens if we push? What happens if we don’t? Could pushing now cost us the White House and the senate? Waiting to fill it is a risk for sure though. We could lose anyways. If we push and the left starts to riot again, I think that makes people tired of their shit again.
I just think there are a shit load of angles to consider here. Will Susan Collins and other vulnerable senators vote to confirm anyone? Who else could lose? I don’t think this is an easy call at all. I’m voting Trump either way, but what will moderates think? That’s the big question imo.
