OttoSigHaven’t posted a dog appreciation thread in a while
Very sorry to Expert308 for your loss. Honestly it made me think of losing my girl Jelly, which made my eyes moist. She’s only 3.5 years old but I often say, she’s my favorite kid!
In light of folks calling the cops on me for “abusing” my dogs this week I figured I’d show you how they’re living right now. This is Jelly’s second PCS. First one she moved to my Dad’s farm with cows. So she’s less excited to move to tiny Kenosha with a .25 acre yard this time. But man, with all the stress of a move she’s always there to show she cares. It’s crazy what a dog does to a man’s emotions and mental state.
She’s been getting daily visits to the dog park while I’m on leave so she’s tired in the evenings.
Bella the lab is still only 9 months old so she’s an idiot compared to Jelly. Still a great pup though. The difference in the breeds is crazy. Jelly loves me to death but we love then go our separate ways and relax. The lab has to be touching or in sight of me at all times. Very clingy.
Tonight in the hotel room. Ignore the skin on her neck. She’s in good shape but ever since she was a puppy she had folds in her neck and flaps. Makes her look overweight, barring the full bag of treats she got off the counter and ate three days ago she’s on a very limited diet. She’s a solid 55# of fur missile.

"Hello, 911? I wanna report a dog abuse. OKthanakyoubye!"

Expert308Yeah, they sure look like they're being abused! Not.

Jelly's a beautiful dog. Labs do tend to be idiots for a couple years, but they do come around. My brother's last dog was part heeler and part lab, and she was one of the two smartest dogs I've ever known.
Good luck with your move, and with your new duty.
