Marky is in my thoughts and prayers, along with you and your family Mark...
It sounds as though he is responding well to treatment, and that you and he are in good hands!
May the good news continue!!!

Glad he's improving! Hope you and the family are doing okay with all the sudden stress and worry that this has surely brought.
Will this change the treatment plan for his underlying kidney issue?

Marky was moved from ICU to a regular room.
The nephrologist here is working with his nephrologist at home. No planned changes to the treatment except adding blood pressure control.
He's talking up a storm right now. Seems to be his old self. Just waiting for him to try to kick us out of his room.

So glad to hear he's acting like himself again. You must be so relieved! I always feel awful when we fly a kid and we can't take the parent along. It's one of the arguments I keep using for getting us a bigger helicopter.
Here's to him getting better each day.

Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with." -Douglas Adams

Marky is still in the hospital. They can't seem to get his blood pressure where they want it without IV medication. They are trying to control it with oral meds that he can take at home but so far nothing seems to be working properly.
Yesterday was a perfect, boring, uneventful day at the hospital.

Yah, here it is Low-sodium diet might not lower blood pressure This came out only month-and-a-half ago.
This actually makes sense. For a small subset of the population that has a kidney disorder, high salt can raise BP. For the majority, it's the opposite. You see, when your system gets low on sodium, your kidneys react to that state by retaining water, so you don't pee out too much more sodium, which makes things worse. What does all that extra water do? Raise your BP.
It's a simple test.. If you have high BP, go nuts with a bag of potato chips, heavily salt things, and check your BP throughout the day for about a week or so.
The whole salt raises BP thing was another small study that was extrapolated out to the general population.
