bigdealRemove the majority of it with a sharp razor blade, then the remainder with with lacquer thinner and a cloth. Just make sure to keep the lacquer thinner off the paint and trim.

comet24Razor blade.
Some denatured alcohol if there is anything left after using the razor blade.
Then just clean the window as normal.

wreckdiverWhile we're talking about pine sap. Anyone got the best way to get it off paint? Had my Prelude parked in the wrong place

tacfoleyOne morning I watched in horrified amazement as a neighbour used one of those spiffy little butane torches - the type you see chefs using to burn food deliberately - to remove the sap - before I could stop her.
It successfully took care of her windshield, too.

Solid wash followed by a clay bar treatment. You'll need to wax the car once done as the clay bar will strip any wax on the car as well. Will easily take the better part of the day when done right. Oh, your arms will be smoked once done too.

GCE61OMG, what a nightmare....
My youngest son bought a Honda Pilot SUV used for a great deal years ago.
He wasn't old enough to get his license, and had only about 3 or 4 weeks to go.
So we would take his car out every few days on his learners permit.
Well, since that car wasn't beings used as a primary, I had him park it all the way down the end of the long double driveway to be out of the way.
Unfortunately, it was under some pine and spruce trees and after a few days of warm weather the car was COVERED in gooey sap.
No big deal says I, Super Dad will help you clean it up. Ummmm, NO. We tried everything and couldn't get that crap off the glass and paint. Finally I called a buddy with a bodyshop and detailing business and he said he'd get it done.
On the way home I was on the phone with a Tree Service and that was the end of those trees overhanging the driveway.

Not good on paint or clear coat, use the denatured. Ive used denatured to soften and wipe away glass hard pine sap.
