Blocking a number that repeatedly send a text message in the Apple universe
Is there any way to block a number that sends unwanted text messages on the iPhone and iPad?

I seem to have acquired a text messaging pest.

I need to block a specific number rather than sending all unknown to message purgatory.

Thanks,

RMD

Click on the text icon within the message and it will give you the option to delete and block the caller number.

This will not work with some SPAM generators that use a variety of phone number combinations.

You can block the number, but they still can text and leave VM, they just go to the junk folder.

There is no "Wish 'em to the Cornfield" option.

More than likely, they are spoofing the number so it's meaningless to block the number of a spam texter.

More effective methods especially when combined:
  • Utilize your carriers' macro-filters. Tools like AT&T ActiveArmor or Verizon Call Filter work at the network level to analyze traffic patterns and kill known spam blasts before they hit your device.
  • On iPhone: Go to Settings > Messages > Filter Unknown Senders. This tucks unverified numbers into a separate tab and turns off notifications for them.
