So a relative has one of these Once before the forum had the correct advice. The relative fiddled with it "somehow" when changing the 9V battery. Now once a battery is connected the keypad won't recognize any button selections and a blue light on the top will flash along with a beeping tone. What has been done to it and what needs to be done to get it working again? _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It's in penalty mode.

OK, thanks! I'll check out the solutions. Glad to know the proper term. _________________________ NRA Endowment Member _________________________ "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. Try letting it set for 5 minutes and trying it again. If the keypad is bad it may be registering the number you are correctly pressing as another number. We see this on occasion where somebody is entering the correct combination and the lock goes into penalty mode after 3 or 4 attempts.
