Roll up door or traditional garage door for shed?
I’ve got a shed that needs need to get the door put on. Rough opening is 8’ wide and 7’ tall.

Are the roll up doors any good? Just looking to keep it dry and fairly clean, it’s just for storage of yard equipment and an ATV etc. It is wrapped with Tyvek and vinyl sided to match the house.

I put a regular garage door on mine when I built it the same, Tyvek and vinyl to match the house.

Nice thing about a roll up is space saving, with a traditional door you loose access to everthing in it's opening or up position.

We have double swing out doors,
I think I might like a spring assist roll-up door better.

But I am old.

I have 10' roll-up doors on the barn and they're great. Not sure how they compare with traditional garage doors for cost, but my guess is they're a bit more expensive. And based on the wind we get I'd much rather have roll-up doors than panel doors. We're planning to build another barn and this one will also have roll-up doors.

These are 10'x16’, rated for 140mph wind loads and $1,400 each. Definitely space savers. No idea about long term reliability.
