I wouldn't have used the term Wellingtons with those Florsheims, but no matter.

Agreed! You just cannot beat a pair of Luchesse ropers. Black or black cherry in goat skin. Goat skin is thin and light while at the same time just as durable as any cowhide. I have a 15 yr old pair of goatskins on their third set of soles.

Regional differences perhaps. Out of curiosity, sometime when you're bored could you post a picture of what "Wellington" means to you? Always up to learn something new.
Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Blundstone makes a really nice boot that will last a very long time. My first pair are 7 years old and still look great for the amount of mileage on them.
The BL062 is my favorite. I like them because you can wear them as dress shoes or with a pair of blue jeans on the weekend.
When I don't have to be on deck much I wear some variant of these: [url=http://www.drmartens.com/us/search/go?

I think of Wellingtons as a work or field boot. That is why I suggested ropers.
