I have a Earlys of Whitney wool blanket from the late 70’s. It was made in England and looks just like a Hudson Bay wool blanket. The stitching on one end of the blanket is unraveling and needs repair. Would any seamstress be able to fix this or do I need to find someone specific for this?

Try your local dry cleaners. They usually have a sewing machine for stitching things up. ----------------------------------- Get your guns b4 the Dems take them away Sig P-229 Sig P-220 Combat

Are you talking about the large blanket stitch on the edge? If so, it's a really simple stitch you could do yourself. I just did my Faribault last year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9zegUYdPmg&t=18s ____________ Pace

Any seamstress or taylor can fix it...just a matter of the quality of work and materials used. Go to a dry cleaner that offers alterations & repairs, they'll probably use basic polyester thread and a single-stitch machine, they may have wool thread available. Is this a hole in the fabric or, just the edging/binding thread that's come loose?

It’s the blanket stitch on the end. If I could find string to match I’d try it myself.

Not really from Vienna![]() |
You might check at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby to see if embroidery thread would match what was used originally close enough.
