From Politico: Roy Moore, the controversial Republican judge who lost a 2017 Senate race in deep-red Alabama amid allegations of sexual misconduct with young girls decades ago, is defying GOP opposition and running again in 2020, he announced Thursday. "I will run for the United States Senate in 2020," Moore said this afternoon at an event in Montgomery, Ala. "Can I win? Yes, I can win.

This guy is an idiot. God I hope people come to their senses and stop this guy before he gets the Republican nomination.

The less publicity this guy gets the better. There are intelligent people in Alabama. Some even attended college.LOL Bringing this nutjob any attention whatsoever hurts the party. Our junior Senator from Mississippi has a lot to learn about everything, but she is just keeping her mouth shut and supporting the party anyway she can. She has said some stupid stuff along the way but is keeping a low profile.

Just ignore his candidacy.

I am a lifelong Conservative but this guy would just give his Democrat opponent a full 6 year term if he is nominated. I wound up discussing this on line with a couple of liberals-one seemed to be a normal person and only disagreed with me. The other I suspect is off his meds and his objections indicated that he read my posts and decided for himself what they said. Some folks are really out there.

The problem of selling himself as an elevator when buyers only see him as a dumbwaiter.

Why can’t old politicians just retire or quit?

We got some seriously old & out of it people wanting to run things, when they should be long retired.

Roy Moore is a dip shit. He has no business running for any office. I didn't vote for him or Jones. He and Jones were terrible choices for Alabama. He should just go back to the farm.

What ever happened to the claims against him that popped up in the last senate race? I never heard how those claims ended in court, was he guilty, vindicated or were they just dropped after the Dem won?

Discredited, dropped when the Dem won, thoroughly discredited, and then put on ice in case Moore ever runs for anything again.

Either Alabama solves this during the primaries or it doesn't - and look out for ringers given that the Dems already have their candidate.
