I've heard only one snow mobile, but have seen a half dozen or more S x S's.

Way bizarre for or area

My wife wanted a golf cart to cruise the neighborhood. Dealer had this 2wd Kawasaki Mule marked way down because who wants a 2wd UTV? The dogs love it and it is useful.

Didn't even know the Mule came in a 2wd version

Looking at the YXZ1000R right now.

For anyone considering a new performance type SXS who will also want to add a shield, roof, doors, etc., Kawasaki is coming out with one equipped as such from the factory. Details are sketchy but my dealer said it has a 1,000cc 4-cylinder motor. Apparently to compete with some like model Polaris has. Due out later this month. Kawasaki Ridge.

We live in central Arizona. When we first moved here I really wanted a SxS, so we got one. It was a Polaris RZR and it was a lot of fun, until it wasn’t. We had quite a few great days out on the desert having a blast. We went to a lot of places I hadn’t been in decades and it was a great vehicle to get me back into off road driving.

We added a full windshield and had the half it came with, added LED headlights, side mirrors, upgraded the tires, five point harnesses, extra wide fenders, upgraded belt, and I know there are quite a few upgrades we did that I’m forgetting.

After a while the “honeymoon” wore off. It did last a long time, over a year, but then… it got hot. So you head out and it’s warm and you’re in the desert and it gets hot. You sweat. You get dusty. You’re like a sugar cookie, but not sweet or tasty. It was then that we bought a Tacoma and sold the RZR. Ended up trading the Tacoma on a Wrangler Rubicon as the Taco wasn’t capable enough.

I've always felt that most people who buy 4-6 seat SXS's would be better off with a Jeep Wrangler. And by the time they buy a plethora of add-ons for them a base Wrangler (even new) isn't that much more money.

I am with ak. You can buy a pretty nice, unmolested jeep for under $8k.

Just be cautious towing with the windshield.
OE Kawasaki plexi windscreen, caught a gust/pressure wave off a semi going the opposite direction, flexed the base of the windshield enough to crack it. Didn't spread any further & that was about halfway on our trip down. We braced the trunk to keep the trunk lid from bowing inward & letting the crack get worse.

In my case, almost the full windshield was in the wind over the roof of my Explorer.
Next time, I'll take the Expedition & hope for better than 8mpg pulling it.

If you zoom in, the crack is visible just to the driver's side of center, at the bottom.

Good to know about the pressure. The windshield I ordered has vents on the bottom that can be open/closed. I'll leave them open while trailering to hopefully combat that.

I enjoyed my Rzr 900 for many years explored a lot of the Black Hills in SD on it and some of the AZ trails near Phoenix. Both states you can run on the roads with the proper equipment. Enjoy it looks like you have some great upgrades.

As far as the comments go from above. There are width restrictions on some trails that you could not take a jeep on that a UTV handles better. The trails in the Black Hills I would have not been able to go on a lot of them with the Wrangler.

The ones I've seen specifically say not to tow with it open or vented. Allows it to flex too much I guess, compared to being braced by the 'hood'. Just depends on the design, I suppose.

MY dad was planning on attempting to repair/brace his cracked windshield [$800 to replace ] with a strip of metal where it curves under & the crack started. Flex it out enough to close the crack & affix a riveted strip to keep it closed.

Took her on the maidan voyage today. Did about 40 miles of some hard woods riding. Took a wrong turn at Albuquerque and got into a lot of stuff I would have never willingly chosen to but man is it more capable than I would have imagined. Mountain goat

That looks like a ton of fun. So you are in NM?
