I’m looking at a Sig Romeo 4H and their price is substantially lower than anywhere else. Really good prices make me suspicious (sad to say)

TIA

Scopelist is part of Eurooptic, so they are legit, but I am going to link you to one of my experiences with Eurooptic. Everyone you meet will praise Eurooptic and perhaps they are deserving of this praise, but take a look at this:

In answer to your question, though, they are not scam artists.

But, having said all that, I intend to make that 10 or 15 bucks as expensive as I can for them, if you know what I mean. I don't appreciate acting in good faith and being a good customer, only to be inconvenienced and lied to for my efforts.

I had not seen that before.

I have recommended EuroOptic in the past based on my many favorable experiences with them, including their discounts. The last time I ordered from them it was a high tier scope that they advertise as usually being a special order item. When I called, though, the one I wanted was in stock: Great; here’s my check information.

When I received the scope it had obviously been removed from the packaging. I don’t know if the manufacturer seals the box in plastic, but if that’s all they do, they should also use a tamper-evident seal of the sort that Nightforce does. The way I knew it had been opened and the scope removed was because the factory wouldn’t have shipped it the way I received it.

In addition to flip-up lens caps, the scopes are usually shipped with what I call “transport” caps that cover the lenses in shipment. When I received the scope, one transport cap was just rattling loose inside the box. In addition, one flip-up cap had been shoved over the eyepiece—while the cap was still in its plastic bag.

Lastly, then the rear of the scope had been forced into the rear plastic foam packaging piece with the flip-up cap attached, and which was not what the foam had been configured to accept. The foam was permanently deformed as a result and very obvious.

I suspect that because the scope was so expensive and uncommon, an employee decided to see what made it such hot stuff. If he had made even a minimal effort to put everything back the way it was originally, I would have probably never known someone had taken the scope out to look at it. But for whatever reason that minimal effort wasn’t taken.

Finally, I got a request from EuroOptic to rate their service, and specifically asking, “If you’re not happy, contact us.” That I did with a full description of why I was unhappy, including a photo of the deformed foam piece. The result? Dead silence, and not even an acknowledgement of my complaint.

That doesn’t mean I’d never order from EuroOptic again, but I would undoubtedly hesitate for something I could get elsewhere, even at a somewhat higher price.

I have bought a number of items including very expensive scopes and some mid-tier scopes from EurOptic over the years.

My last purchase was about a year ago. I wanted a scope for a Christmas gift for my son's new rifle.
I receive a nice pro discount from Europtic so I favor them to other suppliers.I have never had a problem with them until this purchase.

They offered the scope I wanted in new condition with my discount applied. They also had a store model advertised at a price about the same as the new scope with my discount.
I chose the new scope NOT the store model.
When the scope came it was obvious that it was not new, but a floor model.
I kept it because it did not appear to be damaged or abused, just not new in the box.
This was clearly done on purpose by them and I did not appreciate what they did.
I will now be suspicious of every thing I'm contemplating to buy in the future or decide NOT to buy from them in the future.
TOO bad they had to pull this.

So, even though they have a good reputation and they probaby are deserving of this good reputation, you see three separate incidents from three members, and that's just in this one gun forum.

Resting on your laurels for a track record is all well and good, but it doesn't mean that your reputation is unimpeachable and that you can nip at the edges of questionable customer service because you feel your reputation is a shield.
