egregoreMost likely scenarios you might need to deploy you firearm defensively
Most likely: active shooter (or stabber), caught in the middle of a robbery "gone wrong." (There is some overlap.)
Least likely:
1. Followed home and robbed there. I drive an old car that looks somewhat the worse for wear, live in a modest apartment and do nothing else to indicate I might have any money. While more for convenience and not specifically with this in mind, I have my "paychecks" direct-deposited and get small amounts of "walking around" cash with a purchase at the grocery store, therefore rarely need to visit a bank.
2. I do not engage in illegal or questionable activities or behaviors. What little drinking I do is at home, thereby avoiding bars. No gambling, no drugs, no hookers. (Also overlaps with home invasions.)

Outdoor Walk up ATMs are just an invitation to be robbed. There are only a couple drive up ATMS that I use, the type that are in the middle of a parking lot with no sight obstructions.
Just saw the latest “trend” on the news recently. Jugging is when people watch ATM’s for people who withdraw large sums of money (do people really do that?) then follow them home and rob them.

Not to derail the thread Para, but if you don't mind me asking, where/how do you carry 2 and do you carry any extra mags/reloads?
Currently, I'm using a
Wilderness Safepacker for my G19 and if I can get comfortable with it, I'm transitioning to a
9.45 Industries QAPL
Curious why you are moving away from the safepacker?

mrvmaxI carry everywhere that I can legally and have for years. My main carry is a 365 AXG Legion with red dot and two spare mags (I also have two 21 round spare mags that I may carry depending on where I am going). So I have 52 or 60 rounds on me.
If I cannot carry the 365 I have a revolver with two extra clips of ammo (it is a 940 so it actually uses clips).
My wife was robbed at gunpoint at 1pm in the local grocery store parking lot. You never know where it will happen so I try and carry everywhere.
You are most likely to need it where you are the most. Logically your chances are greater wherever you spend most of your time. So at home, where you regularly shop, where you go for recreation.
Have it with you at all times just in case. I am in Texas with most areas gun friendly but I also know that things can be different if I am involved in a self defense incident in Houston or Austin. Knowing that changes where I go and how often.
I should add, I dress to carry and have for years. All of my casual shirts are worn untucked since I carry OWB. When I wear dress clothes I use and ankle holster with the 940. It limits what I can wear but it allows me to carry almost everywhere I go.
