sigfreundDefinitions of panicky responses to crises.
Definition of a panic buyer: The guy who got the last box of ammo or roll of toilet paper before I was able to buy it.
Definition of panic versus prudent preparation: Buying an extra roll of toilet paper or carton of milk before they become unavailable due to an expected power outage versus filling up the gas tank of the car or testing the generator and topping up the diesel before gas and diesel become unavailable due to an expected power outage.

It is long past time for a Convention of States. The Founding Fathers gave us this tool to fix an out of control government and we need to use it.

Define “shit hitting the fan”
Because our version of “PBFFfffllllllliinngggg”
(which is the sound of the dookie actually getting tossed by the blades) is different than other people.
It was -6 this morning when I went to work. Im happy it wasn’t -10.
There’s some guy right now in the hills of Tennessee freaking out because he’s about to get snow.

I shot a match today in 25 degree weather and weather didn’t affect performance. The fact that I suck affected my performance.

PHPaulWe've known sub-zero temps were coming for the weekend for a while now.
Most recent update indicates that the high pressure system that was forcing The Storm Of The Century to go South of us is dissipating and coastal Maine is predicted to see 14 or more inches of snow Sunday night into Monday.
I panicked and went down to the barn and plugged the Cabota into the remote control switch so I can turn the block heater on from the computer room if I need to move snow Monday.
Generator got a fresh battery this Fall, propane tanks are full, fuel oil tank for the furnace is full-ish, pantry is well stocked. Just normal preparations for Winter on my planet.
Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

sigmonkeyWhen the shit hits the fan, you're either content, that you heard it, because that means it didn't hit you.
Or you are content that it hit the enemy.
Either way, that's a good day.
Walk away.

Fly-SigFunny, one set of kids and grandkids are in Texas, due for some cold but probably south of the ice and snow. Anyhow, daughter goes to HEB Friday to get the one last prep for activities with the grandkids, ice cream. The shelves were nearly empty of tp, cans of beans, hamburger, etc. Luckily, no shortage of ice cream.
Daughter and son-in-law have it under control.

tatortoddHaving both a Costco membership and CRS (can't remember shit) helps one be fully stocked on TP, paper towels, and other non-perishables. Better buy some while I'm here instead of trusting my memory.
I didn't have to stock up during scamdemic and didn't have to stock up for this weekends snowmageddon. I just bought my normal perishable on Thursday instead of Saturday.
