https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...er-abortion-n2541026 House Democrats have twice refused now to take up the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act for consideration. The measure is “designed to ensure any infant born alive after an abortion receives the same protection of law as any newborn: mandating care and instituting penalties for doctors who allow such infants to die or who intentionally kill a newborn,” according to a statement from the office of its sponsor Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO). House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) attempted to get the legislation considered in the House Wednesday. “If the Democrats object, we'll ask again, and again and again because it is just right,” he said prior to his attempt. “It's not a partisan issue–it’s about saving lives. I think everyone can agree with that. We should solve this problem this week.” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) asked for the bill to be considered again Thursday. He and McCarthy wondered on Twitter why the Democrats kept rejecting it. EWTN’s Jason Calvi made an interesting point about the Democrat presiding over the floor at the time, Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX). Cuellar had voted for the passage of the measure in the House just last year. Senate Democrats blocked a measure Monday that would have legally protected infants born alive after an abortion procedure. The move to protect infants born alive after abortion comes after Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) made some surprising remarks about leaving infants to die after birth. “It’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus that’s nonviable,” Northam told WTOP regarding third trimester abortions. “So in this particular example, if a mother’s in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.” He stood by those remarks but is now facing calls to resign over a photo from his medical school yearbook that surfaced last Friday which featured someone in Ku Klux Klan robes and someone in blackface. During his State of the Union address Tuesday, President Trump condemned Northam's remarks on abortion and urged Congress to pass legislation prohibiting late term abortion. _________________________

Disgusting. As is the fact that the Republicans wasted their majority over the past two years when they could have worked on this, healthcare, getting suppressors off the NFA list, and Concealed Carry Reciprocity. Now that they aren’t the majority they make a big deal and want credit for addressing theses things. Where was the effort when they actually had the numbers to DO something about it? What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand??? ![]()

Why are they doing this? Why did Pelosi bother introducing any gun legislation? What the hell are they doing? I support abortion, but late term abortions are only in very dire circumstance. These bills put forth boggle my mind. Abortion is murder. Period. Anyone who supports it needs to admit that. The idea that a full term, born baby, could be "aborted?" pure insanity. Monstrous insanity. All I can think, about the abortion related efforts by Democrats right now, and really a whole lot of what they are doing, is the quote I believe from Napoleon? Massachusetts Dems Push Extreme Abortion Bill https://townhall.com/tipsheet/...ortion-bill-n2540965 Massachusetts Democrats have taken a page from New York’s radical left and are pushing a bill to legalize abortion at any time during the pregnancy. Currently, abortions in the state are banned after 24 weeks unless the woman’s life is in danger due to the pregnancy or, if the pregnancy would pose a “grave impairment of her physical or mental health.” The bill, known as the Remove Obstacles and Expand Abortion Access Act (ROE Act), would get rid of the “grave impairment” language so that an abortion could take place after 24 weeks if the pregnancy risks “her physical or mental health, or in cases of lethal fetal anomalies, or where the fetus is incompatible with sustained life outside the womb.” The bill would give doctors much more latitude in deciding to conduct abortions and would delete the section in current Massachusetts law that requires doctors to “take all reasonable steps … to preserve the life and health of the aborted child,” including having life-supporting equipment in the room. It would also repeal existing law that requires a minor to get her parents’ consent before an abortion. “The ROE Act breaks down barriers to ensure that women are able to receive appropriate medical care, according to a physician’s best judgment, in tragic circumstances when there are lethal abnormalities or a risk to the woman’s life during the course of a pregnancy,” state Sen. Harriette Chandler, the bill’s sponsor in the Senate, told the Washington Examiner. “The law should reflect that these are very difficult decisions that should be made between a woman and her doctor.” (Washington Examiner) Similar legislation is being considered in New Mexico, Rhode Island, and Vermont, as progressives fear that Justice Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the Supreme Court will be the beginning of the end of Roe v. Wade. _________________________

And the CHILD'S FATHER has no say in the matter? Way back when I was in college, we had to take a class about "speech". The teacher? was a flag waving women's liberty freak, she was also rabidly anti-male. And she was the only teacher. The "best" any male could expect was to receive a "C". I was trained by the military as an instructor, and again by IBM as an instructor and had taught 100s of students, in dozens of classes. One requirement of that "speech" course was a panel discussion among the students. There were only 2 males in the class and we ended up on the same team. That team decided (we males were outnumbered) to debate abortion. We 2 males came in to class the day of our debate loaded with technical information, medical information regarding abortion, etc. We were prevented from using our material, but it did not matter, we had studied at length. In short, it was a disaster for the giddy teen shemales. The only good thing to come out of it was that they also got the "D" grade for the "debate". Regardless of any way it is presented, abortion is murder! IMO, 3 people need to be involved in that decision. The mother, father, and the doctor. And then only to save the life of the mother. Abortion is not "birth control" it is murder of the unborn. There are so many ways for women to avoid getting pregnant. One I particularly liked way back when was "aspirin". One aspirin tablet held firmly between the knees. Elk There has never been an occasion where a people gave up their weapons in the interest of peace that didn't end in their massacre. What I haven’t seen mentioned in any of the late term abortion discussions is the fact that it’s a short step between murdering newborns and forced euthanasia for the elderly. Make sure you retain a working firearm if you have to go to a nursing home as you may need it!

The Left is worried that Roe Vs. Wade might be overturned. I don't believe the Court has any intention of doing that. So now they want to kill babies that have been born. Now that might get things moving in the direction of overturning Roe vs. Wade. Not a smart move, but then the Left is not known for being smart. Not that it matters what I think, but I am against abortion except to save the mother's life. Rod "Do not approach a bull from the front, a horse from the rear, or a fool from any direction." When you hear the term "medicare for all"... that is what it means. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor
