First review period for that matter.

The thing that surprised me was I chose this company because if their impeccable reviews. Now I know why they have such great reviews.

They offered me $1000 to delete my review. Is this common? I course I declined and had to go back and forth via text with the owner but still. Definitely makes me think reviews should be a lesser consideration. I guarantee most people (obviously) take the money and delete their review.

Might you give us a hint or two? Not enough to crack the case, mind you.

To my mind there's a big difference between being asked to delete a review, and being asked to modify it to be favorable. Like everyone who does business on the 'net, I have been asked to leave a review many times. I almost never do so, but if I do, it reveals the warts as well as the beauty marks. I recognize that no transaction/customer experience can be perfect (except for with Dave Truong, of course), but I trust those reading the review have the same understanding. If you can't leave negative feedback, the rest of the reviews on the site are useless.

And if in the future, someone else were to leave another review that expressed the same sentiment, well that's too bad. Wink

They know it’s broke… They just want to sell more… hence the bribe.

You’ll send us the name of the roofing company that was bad enough for you to leave them a bad review? Confused

I would update the review with a copy of the bribe.

That is admirable but risky. The mob does not like negative reviews and someone offering bribes is not somebody I would want to piss off.

You don’t even say what state you live in.

Your post, and this thread all seems rather pointless

The point is to not depend upon on-line reviews. Sadly, the truth has become a precious commodity. Kudos to 1s1k.

I left a bad review of a restaurant and they offered me to come back and try them again at my expense.

I updated the review to even worse.

My point is not to bash the company they may very well be a great company. The main reason for my bad review was the salesman. The reason for my post was wondering how often it is you get paid to delete a negative review since I have never left one before. Apparently it’s not the prevalent since no one has mentioned it has happened to them.

I wouldn’t play dirty unless they came back saying I am lying or something like that. It would be funny though.
