I also wear an older Tilley wool winter hat. Have two, one black and one brown. Both have the ear flaps and the older black one has a flap that covers the forehead. Sorry to hear that all the Tilley hats are not made in Canada anymore.

I feel like I'm getting a hat education in this thread. I use a Ushanka, but I get cold easily and my protruding ears suffer the worse.

Thanks for the heads up on this hat, I really like my summer Tilley, hopefully I will love this one too. Plus, this one is still made in Canada! This message has been edited. Last edited by: Warhorse, ____________________________ NRA Life Member, Annual Member GOA, MGO Annual Member

A couple of us have mentioned in this thread that we favor a ushanka in very cold weather. Certifiable member of the gun toting, septuagenarian, bucket list workin', crazed retiree, bald is beautiful club! USN (RET), COTEP #192

Panama hat in the summer, fur felt fedora in the rain, fall or winter. Especially if I'm dressed up. Bob Carpe Scrotum

I have a fur felt brimmed hat for winter I wear to work sometimes. It's actually very warm, and you can't beat it with a stick when it's raining, sleeting, snowing, in cold winter wind. Lover of the US Constitution Wile E. Coyote School of DIY Disaster
