Will you be able to upkeep maintain and possibly upgrade your house as the years go by if you start making double payments ? upkeep, maintenance and upgrades are very important. When Jeff and Jennifer bought their house their parents told them that they should plan on spending $5,000 a year on upgrades and upkeeping of the house besides their payments and their insurance. They ended up waiting three and a half years to find the right house with the right financing that they could afford to do so it took them a lot longer but their plan is working great. Yes. Always. As fast as possible. That's what I did, three times. Starter home, second home, and now in our dream home. There's all kinds of theories on this, and many of them may also be right. But I'll have the Debt Free option for me.

There is great value to being debt free. No way to put numbers on it, but it was the best move I ever did. We were savers, and could afford it, so one day when my wife was "crying" she just couldn't afford" monthly payments, I just listened. Then she went shopping or to one of her volunteer jobs. I got up and went to the bank. Assembeld the needed funds and paid the damn thing off. Felt good. Let me see, no house payment, no car payments. I somehow lost my credit cards on my dresser top. Can't avoid utility bills and phone bill. Unhappy ammo seeker
