Most of these "kids of color" have multiple mentors today between the gang members and drug dealers they interact with. And I assure you, busting a cap in someone their drug dealer mentor tells them to is far more lucrative then collecting $300 a month. Though as screwed up as SF is, most of these "youths" should be able to collect this stipend while busting caps into the drug dealer mentor's competition.quote:Originally posted by Aeteocles:quote:Originally posted by parabellum:
It won't change a single thing.
If you have to try to bribe someone to not commit violent crimes, you've already lost.
I think that undersells the program initiative.
Agree that bribing someone to not commit violence is bound to fail.
However, mentorship can be life changing. The program provides mentorship.
The stipend is to ensure participation in the mentorship program. Otherwise, you'd never get these gangbangers to participate.
So the smart knife dealers will be pricing everything at $299 and below? Sales will skyrocket!quote:Originally posted by V-Tail:
In order to avoid fraudulent behavior, any thug who accepts the $300 / month will have to switch from guns to knives.
