Didn't watch the game. Did the refs make any calls that were advantageous for Auburn? I'll bet they did. BBall is a very hard sport to call especially when your dealing with athletes that are at the level of NBA or NCAA. The game is fast as hell. Having reffed top notch high school BBall I do know that you let them play or foul everyone of the players out. It's easy to call fouls, it's hard as hell to judge how bad the foul is.

It was no doubt a foul. Too bad they didn't call the obvious double dribble. In the end, this only proves that Kentucky should be in the national championship.

When I first saw it live, I thought it was a bad call. The replay was plain as day that the right call was made.

Foul- yes. Double dribble before the foul- yes. Virginia does not belong in the final game, and I'm sure that the Red Raiders will explain that to them Monday night. Smile

There was no doubt in my mind that Guy was going to make all 3, no matter what he said afterword.

It isn’t why uva won

Kyle Guy still had to hit that 3, Auburn had to miss a free throw, and then yes, it was a foul on Guy’s shot, and he had to stand there and make all 3 free throws

Kentucky? No way. They are a tournament poser. Calipari is a great recruiter of one and dones. But he is not a very good bench coach.

Congrats to the Cavaliers. A great game. Hated to see Texas Tech. lose.

Nice to see the likes of NC, KY and Duke out.

I really didn't have a dog in the fight, but had to root for the underdog and the team that beat Gonzaga. They dang near pulled it off.

Good game.

WA-HOO-WA

well, the kids will be home from school tomorrow

My wife attended UVA for 8 years....undergrad and med school

My only connection was living in Charlottesville for many years with her, teaching a seminar at the ED school (Curry) once, and going to many, many games...loving the university...had I not gone to West Point I would have been a Hoo as well

I am also the father of two diehard HOO sons...we have had season tickets for football, for basketball

Still hasn’t sunk in

What a tournament.

Edit: Reece Davis on espn just dropped Gus burgers for everyone at the white spot. That’s a deep, deep pull. Dammit. Now I want angus burger. I doubt anyone is getting near the corner tonight that’s not already there Wink

Also, for the record, watch the whole sequence. Jerome was fouled before the double dribble and it was uncalled

Yeah, that's part of the game. Fouls get called, but sometimes they don't. Sometimes fouls get called in the first 0:02 seconds of the game, sometimes in the last 0:02 seconds of the game. Sometimes they get missed entirely.

I'm not even a Virginia fan. But they absolutely deserved to be there. And it was so refreshing to watch a final without Duke or UNC playing. I don't believe there was a single five-star recruit in the Final Four this year.
