Thanks for your efforts and work. I can’t imagine dealing with those circumstances as often as you do.

stay strong and know that people like you are needed on a daily basis.

Just when it feels like it's OK to write off the human race, someone like you comes along and changes my outlook. Thank You

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

Definitely not an easy call. A thought, maybe make contact with the widow on your day off to see how she is doing and if she needs any help with anything or just to let her know you are still thinking of her and her situation.

Take care it’s not an easy job, but one we have chosen to serve and protect. When you retire you still have that same yearning to serve and protect.

As an Firefighter/EMT, I ran a call on Mother's Day about 6 weeks after losing my Mom. It was a high speed rollover crash with an elderly mother being driven to dinner by her highly intox daughter. Both injured. There were syringes scattered 100' down the berm. All I could think of was how lucky the daughter was. Not legally, but because she had her mom. But she was squandering an opportunity.

Hug them, hold them close. Tell them how you feel.

I held a 25 year old female while she took her last breath. It was a meth overdose. Her boyfriend could not have cared less. For some reason, that almost made it worse.

Hang in there. Do good, come home safe. It's all people can ask of you.
