I have an LG flip phone and once a year I write down all of the phone numbers , just in case the phone gets damaged, lost or stolen.

Should I be able to connect the phone to the computer and just print out the numbers ?
somehow.

it has a charger jack on the side,

It depends. I remember having issues finding drivers and software that worked with my old LG and Motorola flip phones. I ended up having to buy software and a cable from ATT.

I can’t remember any of the program names but you should hopefully be able to google your phone model and find it.

I used to save them as csv files that Excel could read.

Or buy even a low-end smart phone and you will never have to worry about it again.

We used to back up texts for an employee at work, think he had an LG flip phone.
Not sure if the same software can back up other parts of the phone. Will have to dig around & see if I can find the software.

Plug into your PC and see if phone gets recognized, worst case PC starts charging phone.
You can get a free cloud account and store your contacts there and no worries if phone is lost, stolen or breaks.

Put your DOS disk in the left hand drive and boot up.

Then connect your modem and download the latest software.

Just kidding...Go to this website for detailed, step by step instructions based on your model LG phone:

I too have an LG flip phone - it's great. I can actually talk on it, I don't buy pants around my phone fitting in it, and if its not important to talk to me, it waits until I feel like checking my laptop.

I admit, I am becoming fond of Slack.

Your smartphone can automatically backup your contacts to "the cloud," a.k.a., the innernets. When you get a new phone, it's almost automatic to have your contacts show up on it.

Edit to add: unless you get an iPhone, you'll need a gmail (google) account, I believe. They are free. Your contacts and other key info are then shared between your phone and your account in the cloud.

iPhones do the same thing, but via an Apple account.

The Google (android) phones are less expensive than iPhones.

As far as what you were "missing," it was a joke about the likelihood of a flip phone being stolen.

I don't carry the phone list around with me , so the chances of it getting lost ,stolen or broken is very minimal.

will just use the list to put the numbers in my new phone
