Amazon In-Car Delivery. Yes, delivered to inside of YOUR car!
For those not satisfied with inviting Alexa into their homes or having their wifi-enabled door locks opened by some random Amazon delivery person to put things inside your home, now you can also give them access to your car.

What could possibly be wrong with that? Hopefully they also have a mic to record all conversations in car. Not to be stored and suddenly produced for days on end of course..... Oh good news - they'll also be tracking your car, so for those worried about the power company profiling your usage how about THAT?

Disclosure - I love AMZN and have been a Prime member and (tiny) shareholder since forever. But this stuff is crazy.

Yeah, can't see anything wrong with this. Obviously the ones behind this have never heard of "Detroit Diamonds". That is the nickname for the pieces of broken tempered glass found on the ground in the city.

I can see it now, the line from Casablanca where Renault is closing down Rick's."I'm shocked, shocked"

Well some focus group came up with the idea or Amazon is getting a lot of requests for car deliveries, perhaps the increase in theft from front porches, or inability to lock up a delivery mid day when to an apartment/condo puts goods at risk, taking it to your vehicle and putting in the trunk would be safer, at least it's out of easy reach of a thief.

I could see where city delivery is a problem for packages and theft or non delivery claims for reimbursement increasing.

If the customer says its ok, more power to them.

Heck I've been doing that for 20 years!
When FedEx wouldn't leave anything unsigned for, I'd sign the form and leave a note, "Put it in the car and lock the door." Some big damn boxes too, but it was a damn big car. Smile

On one hand, you have people who would go ballistic if the Amazon delivery guy brushed a pants'-leg against their beater while dropping off a box.

On the other hand, you have people who happily give access to their 2015 or newer car to the same delivery guy.

I don't get people, at all. I bet the delivery guy has fun guessing which one he's about to deal with, too.

I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

I would give Amazon free access to my home and car when they give me free access to their warehouses

I think I would rather pickup at a local Amazon, UPS, or FedEx drop location. I used it recently for a signature required FedEx package, better than slips left at door when not home.
