Striker in waiting |
Just wondering if any of our .mil members have a lead on resources to assist with EFMP issues. My sister is friends with a family having some trouble right now. In broad strokes - USAF service member being stationed away from his wife who has severe medical issues and cannot move. Happy to provide additional info via email if it would help. My first question was whether they had contacted their Congress critters. I know an appeal is pending, but they are not hopeful. Thanks, all. -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

Assume they are enrolled in the program? _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. Yep. With an appeal pending through whatever process that takes. One of the issues they’re having (and I’m getting this all 3rd hand) is that the board is balking at her civilian doctor’s reports, but she can’t get in to see a .mil doc b/c she has “the wrong kind of tricare”. Didn’t know there was a “wrong kind” of tricare, but that’s what I’ve been told. -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A

Wrong kind of tricare does not exist. I am guessing out of network where she has to pay full cost. Any licensed MD should be fine, due to unvailability of military doc.
