PR64My wife doesn’t allow the dogs on the couches

stkfoxOur goldendoodle is allowed on our sofas, we have stylish covers for them, all is good. We draw the line on the bed though, mostly because he’s just TOO big at 100 lbs, no room. Our little Coton de Tulear slept with us every night, comforting for all concerned I believe. She’d roll over during the night and want her belly scratched

Powers77We had two 65 pound plus dogs the first 14 years of marriage. Wife is a touch OCD about house cleanliness but they were allowed in every night to an area on a painters tarp. Wife would give them plenty of loving there and they were happy there. Every once in a while there would be clicking of toenails on linoleum. Wife would go "Hugo" and there would be toenails clicking back to the tarp.
We had a whole routine where they would come in for the night, get plenty of loving and when it was bedtime they went downstairs and into their individual crates for the night. You didn't want to be ahead of them going down the stairs or you might get rolled.
Bottom line dogs like structure.
But, they also love pushing the limits from time to time.

Boss1Bed? Nope.
But one of the better(best?) things in life (IMHO) is petting on your four-legged family member as he snoozes next to you on the couch. When I used to do more night work, the lady of the house very much appreciated having the 90 lb fur-covered pillow snoring in her lap.
$0.02 worth,
Boss

I replaced my wife for 2 fifty pound dogs in bed.
I have more room, am warmer, and happier.
It just costs me more Dentastix.

cmartinOur Giant Schnauzer always honored the No Dogs on Furniture , he did have several of his own beds but often preferred the floor. No people food either. Great dog , lasted 12 years and we really miss him. He was spoiled tho.
