LoungeChairNew York Times writes 1000 word article on children starving in Venezuela. Followup on Mon morning on how NK is starving and it's US's fault
quote:
The Venezuelan government has tried to cover up the extent of the crisis by enforcing a near-total blackout of health statistics, and by creating a culture in which doctors are often afraid to register cases and deaths that may be associated with the government’s failures.
This sound alarmingly familiar.
I don’t know exactly what you are looking for.
- populist narcissistic president who was unfit for the job
- massive government give aways to his supporters
- government policies to strangle the economic producers while adjusting government policy to suit his close supporters.
- cleansing the government of “non-believers” and filling posts with loyal toadies.
I guess regular readers of the NYT don’t require all the background to understand the current situation in the country.
