Sunday some heavy storms hit WKY, one hit Moores Marina on KY Lake and ripped up one of the larger marinas.

A dock cam captured the scene, the only thing I have to say is, wtf is wrong with the people on the boat,

You are getting off the lake due to heavy storms, the winds are high and a tornado is coming right at you, and you are trying to put down the bikini top and standing on the adjacent dock, near fuel, and taking your time getting off the boat, one guy takes the time to put the life jacket in the box.

I wonder if they knew what they were seeing?

I ask because when working around F-14s you know what a jet blast feels like but until you feel what the suction from the intake feels like, you don't know what it is when you feel it the first time (hence the reason why, with gloves, rings, etc. off) we would bring new people up to the turning engine, from the side, and while holding onto them, have them place their hand in front of the intake.

Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Nothing worse than covered docks in a blow!

I've been on lakes since I was 2. I have a boat. I love my boat. I've seen storms blow up fast and have had to run at max speed back to pier.

These people are just idiots. I'd have driven that thing up on the shore or front of pier and ordered everyone off and to run as fast as possible. If they'd been paying attention they had to be able to see what was bearing down on them for at least a moment.

I've been there on that dock many times. From there direction it seems to be coming from there is a big leg on the lake right after a huge mountain hill. It got tore up several years ago.
I think it came over that hill and was on them before they knew it was more than a windy rain storm.

They had no where to go.

Local reports say that was a microburst. The storms rolled in fast Sunday. We have had a weather pattern here lately that has been weird. Thunderstorm after thunderstorm.

That’s the only explanation that makes sense and doesn’t make them suicidal. Thanks.
