White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre expressed condolences Thursday on the death of former NFL star OJ Simpson — but made no mention of the two people he was accused, and sensationally acquitted, of killing nearly three decades ago.
“Our thoughts are with his families [sic] during this difficult time — obviously with his family and loved ones,” Jean-Pierre said of Simpson. “And I’ll say this, I know that they have asked for some privacy. And so we’re going to respect that. And I’ll just leave it there.”

I’m surprised that FJB hasn’t called the Simpson family yet to express how he knows how they feel since his son died of cancer. He’d inadvertently be telling the truth for once.

The prosecution dropped the ball, Clark was in over her head, Darden was for optics. Sorry, Clark looked like a prosecutor at the beginning of the case, by the end her hair, shoes and dresses were the focus of the media and she was all wrapped up in it. Darden was a junior ADA with little experience, he was there for optics and PCness. Judge Ito was all wrapped up in his celebrity, Jay Leno had the Lance Ito Dancers, too much fame. The defense was Sheck and Derschowicz and Shapiro, Cochran was a Personal Injury lawyer who was on LA TV all the time, ambulance chaser who never tried a Criminal case let alone a murder. However the defense took apart the case, reasonable doubt was shown.

The murders and the Bronco chase happened the week of our honeymoon. We were up on the coast at a B&B and I recall distinctly overhearing the older couple at breakfast talking about OJ's arrest. By the time we made it home that Friday (?), the Bronco chase was prime time.

What were you doing when verdict was read? I was grinding the paint off of the siding on my garage. I stopped to listen to it. Shrugged in disappointment for what it said about the culture.

I guess the fight's on for the rest of OJ's wealth and possessions, whatever that may be. I'm sure the Goldman's have not received the totality of the civil jury verdict.
