I want to build a "Admiral Nelson" car

Get a hard top Aston Martin, paint it orange, paint a union jack on the top, an '01' on either door, and put in a horn that plays the Benny Hill theme, drive it around London and see whose heads explode.

I also read once that Nelson is the very epitome of diversity, and shows a healthy respect for the role played by handicapped service personnel.

I pointed out that he was not the first handicapped sailor in history, and bearing in mind that the monopede Long John Silver was a figment of literature, his 'active' dates precede those of Nelson by around fifty years or so.

I also pointed out that when Nelson went to sea, he was fully equipped with arms and eyeballs.

It was his in-service activities that led to some of these items being removed. Another anecdote was the assertion that he had the response to an order commonly found among sailors, - 'aye-aye, Sir', changed whilst on ships under his command to the simple 'aye, sir'

The constant reminder of his absent eyeball betting on his nerves somewhat.

'The Immortal Memory'. Sir, in my previous life I have been a participant in several 'Trafalgar Night' dinners and I have read many books about the great man. While not the only great fighting sailor of the time, Cochrane, Broke, and Pellew spring to mind, he was certainly 'first among equals' as they say and contributed greatly to the tradition of the RN and to the history of the country, Europe, and effectively, the rest of the world. Things would have been very different for several countries and many, many people without him.
