What's that they always tell us? "Nobody wants to take your guns away".

Either they don't want to take our guns, or, we will be more safe in society if we allow them to take our guns.

This character is a semi-regular on Tucker. He's a full-fledged lefty. They say that California is often a political barometer, and I believe it's true for the left in this case. This guy has just upped the ante by coming out of the closet with what what the left really wants. I expect other politicians will be watching this closely and will likely join in if they think they have a shot at advancing this and if they perceive it will buy them votes. I imagine Bloomberg and company are salivating as we speak.

Of course it is what the left wants. First they want to remove the ability of their opposition to resist. Then if the opposition still resists, they will remove the people.

That's not hyperbole, that is history. It has how the left has always worked.

If they are honest, what they want is confiscation. Molon Labe, buddy... Molon Labe!

Isn't it "MoloM labe?"

A gun in the hand is worth more than ten policemen on the phone.

Just throwing things against the wall and see what sticks. We've all known there's that element from the left that wants total ban. Politicians were too afraid or, too fringe to say so. This guy, in a higher profile, wealthier district is giving it a shot.

Ban assault weapons and buy them back. It might cost $15 billion, but we can afford it. Consider it an investment in our most important right, the right to live.
Andrew Norris at gun-rights rally at Georgia state capitol

Gary Jackson never stood a chance.

Gary was 28 and working as a security guard at a taco truck in Oakland, Calif., in 2009 when he saw Dreshawn Lee carrying a sawed-off shotgun and reported it to police. Three months later, Lee took his revenge by shooting and killing Jackson with an AK-47-style semiautomatic assault rifle.

I was the prosecutor who persuaded a jury to convict Lee and persuaded a judge to put him away for 65 years to life. But Gary’s autopsy report still haunts me.

Trauma surgeons and coroners will tell you the high-velocity bullet fired from a military-style, semiautomatic assault weapon moves almost three times as fast as a 9mm handgun bullet, delivering far more energy. The bullets create cavities through the victim, wrecking a wider swath of tissue, organs and blood vessels. And a low-recoil weapon with a higher-capacity magazine means more of these deadlier bullets can be fired accurately and quickly without reloading.

An assault weapon, then, is a hand-held weapon of war, capable of spraying a crowd with more lethal fire in seconds.

So tell me Mr. prosecutor turned politician, why was there a person accused of carrying a sawed off shotgun (felony) allowed bail? I'm willing to bet he also had a previous record of felonies. If there are not violent people on the street, there will be no violence on the street.

God, I'm so ecstatic that I left that shithole commie state. SO many of these type of CA Commie threads lately Wink

Yeah, if they were to have $15B lying around, (as if?!) they should use it to help shore up their ridiculous unfunded pension liabilities rather than this nonsense.

If they had $15 billion lying around, it would get snatched up and spent on universal health care, a state-wide rail system, or some other boondoggle. No, they want someone else to provide $15 billion in fresh money for the purpose.

Seems to me a CA politician would focus first on spending $15 Billion on his/her cronies, the leftovers might be used as window dressing to show how successful their efforts were.

Come to think of it (side note, I am the Cub Committe Chair, my friend is the Scout Committee Chair), anyway, my friend is a member of a local shooting club, works one Sat per month at the range. I need to get out more, visit him there monthly.

Funny, I had two of my AR's out last night just to look them over and make sure they were as I left them. Made sure my loaded mags were all lined up at the ready and did an inventory on 5.56 ammo.
My rifle is clean and ready for service should the need arise as am I.
