… as an afterlife (after death) for warriors who die in battle or with weapon in hand?

Question:
Does it? (As the question was asked, not by some other definition or description.)

Choices:
Yes.
No.

Nice idea, but no.
Same as every other afterlife as far as I can tell.

It’s what you believe in. If you believe in it, in whatever ever it is, that’s what you get. If not, what’s to believe in the future?

Only if you don't get collected by Freyja and taken to Fólkvangr. Same theory, different neighborhood. Half of the warriors go to Valhalla, half to Fólkvangr.

Of course, I'm nominally Catholic, so who the hell knows.

It's your choice. We all make our own reality for now, and in our future. It's whatever you choose to believe.

My vote of yes is for those who fought in Military conflict for the Country, may have dignity and comfort if and when they pass. I cant condone Veteran suicides and would never. But for warriors to have something to believe in, those who havn't been there may never understand.

You can't answer that with a simple, blanket yes or no. It, or other afterlives, exists if one believes it does.

That general idea has been mentioned several times in this thread. I have trouble with the logic.

I "believe" I'm a millionaire. Apparently, my checkbook doesn't.

Cmon PHPaul, get with the time, what your trying to say is you "identify" as a millionaire. Wink

I would like for it to exist...

But, I plan to go Fiddler's Green where all Cav Soldiers go.........

Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead Troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers’ Green.

Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers’ Green.

Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No Trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he’s emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers’ Green.

And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And put your pistol to your head
And go to Fiddlers’ Green.

Does Valhalla exist ...

It's an interesting question to be posed by an avowed atheist.

Is that intended to mock those who believe in an afterlife?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."
