RangeWalkerFun Sporting Clays Weekend
Spent Saturday at
Wing Pointe hitting the sporting clays course. First time there in years, and man, it was a good reminder of what a proper course feels like.
Anyone a member there? Been wondering what the hunting is like.

wrightdSporting Clays and 5 stand is a blast, particularly more so if you can hit stuff. I never was able to hit rabbits bouncing around in the rough on 5 stand though, unless you shoot the gravel in front of the rabbit, but that's cheating, a shameful memory. I could hit crossers, but if they were crossing me on the ground, I could not figure it out. Something about being on the ground messed with my head.
Your Wing Pointe club looks nice, with pricing reasonable. Can't think of a better way to relax.

RoofussYour lucky to have a cool club, our local Sporting Clays/ Trap & Skeet range closed down 18 months ago. Nearest one now is a 90 min. drive, one way !

PASigDon't think I've ever been to that one but was going with my Dad pretty regularly to Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays in Allentown, PA back before I had kids and got too busy.
My favorite was the ones that roll across the ground fast and they take those unexpected hops and you try to blast them as they roll!

Ah yes - a "rabbit"

I love sporting clays and we have a decent facility locally (Rochester Brooks). Every year I participate in a sporting clay tournament for the local ACE mentoring chapter and it's always a great day of shooting.

vthokyI haven't seen Wing Pointe, but about 45 minutes from there you'll find Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays. I've shot there a couple of times, and really enjoyed it.

amalsWe have three or four decent sporting courses within reasonable distance from St.Louis city. Always a fun time. More fun when you're hitting them, of course!

mdblantonThat’s a nice looking facility. A new sporting clays venue opened up recently about 15 minutes away from me. Two sporting clays courses, one around a field and one along the river that borders the property. They also have a 5-stand course and beginning in November, will offer night shoots on the 5-stand with black lights and fluorescent targets. They are in the process of adding a Helice course - something I have not tried.
