What is it with the stupid ads?
I don’t know about anyone else but I am of the opinion that if their ad is stupid, likely whatever they’re hawking us stupid as well.
A couple come to mind - any ad from the insurance company that keeps you from becoming your parents is not going to sell me anything
And those stupid ads with the ostrich and the yellow shirt guy - if that’s the best they can come up with their products must be even worse.
Make a smart ad and you might get my attention

PatriotWhat’s worse?
Picture a Don Draper type boardroom with company executives sitting around the table and some Gibroni pitching those commercials and those executive saying yes, yes give me that!
It boggles the mind.

The ads got your attention and you remember the product.

2BobTannerThe Dixie Paper Plate ads are the most stupid ones around.
Boy friend has girl friend over for a romantic spaghetti dinner. He loads up a paper plate with marinara-drenched meatballs and pasta; nearly trips over the dog and dumps the Italian meal all over girl friend.
Young daughter wants to show Mommy her school project about the Arctic. Kid obviously put some thought, time, and effort into it. Mommy comes over with a fully loaded paper plate of Mexican food and subsequently dumps it all over the kid’s project.
Dumbass working from home in his PJ bottoms on a conference call swings around his chair to view his computer screen and subsequently dumps his fully loaded paper plate of Asian food all over his keyboard, stands up in front of computer cam, and fellow conference callers see his PJ bottoms.
And the bloody fools blame the paper plates for the food dump disaster. No, it’s the BLOODY FOOLS carrying the overloaded paper plates which are to blame for the disasters.

I agree. Home/auto Insurance ads are the worst.
Well, next to pharmaceutical ads which I don't believe should even be advertised to the public.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
